Rimmel London Wonder'Full Mascara

Whenever I need a new mascara Rimmel is the brand I go to, they always have a wide rang of quirky mascaras, suitable for all your eyelash needs. This Wonder'Full mascara is no exception, It has the standard plastic bristle brush, which I know is a love hate for some people.  I'm personally a fan of the plastic spiky brushes, they just seem to really separate my lashes. But its not the brush that makes this mascara stand out, its the fact the mascaras formula contains Argan Oil. Now I don't know if I am just behind with the times, but I have never used a mascara that contains any form of oils to help condition the lashes, so when I spotted that this one does I had to give it a whorl.

I actually love this mascara, the formula is not waterproof, yet I find that it hardly flakes, if at all.  The brush helps to really define each lash, and make them look long and thick. The wand is also flexible so its easy to apply to every lash and doesn't make them look clumpy, which is always a pet hate of mine. Even if I apply several coats the lashes still look long and clump free. The wand is fairly big, but as its not rigid its easy to miniver so even if you have smaller eyes I'm sure you would get along with this fine.

This mascara retails at £7.99, which is pretty good for a mascara, and I think its worth every penny.

My everyday make up.

I like to alternate my everyday make up quite a bit, depending on how my skin is looking, what sort of mood I'm in and obviously the occasion. Right now my skin is behaving itself so I am wearing a much lighter coverage foundation, the one I really like is the No7 Intelligent colour foundation, its a skin adapting sheer foundation with spf 6, I find this really smooth out my skin and gives just enough coverage to even out my skin tone. I use the Real techniques buffing brush to apply this to me face as it gives such a lovely finish. I then use MAC studio finish concealer to hide any pigmentation or blemishes I may have, as well as concealing under the eyes. For applying concealer under the eyes I use the Real techniques foundation brush from the core collection, I then use the smaller brush for any pinpoint concealing and the eco tools blending brush to make sure its all blended in. I then set it all with Rimmel stay matt powder (all the writing has rubbed off). With my powder I use my eco tools kabuki. 

I then use the Real techniques contour brush to apply the Bourjois bronzing powder, or more commonly known as Bourjois chocolate bronzer. I use to love this, but now I feel after Iv used it quite a bit the pigmentation and colour pay off has gone. I also use the No7 High lights Illuminating powder, this is very old (should probably through it away) but I really like it. I wouldn't class it as a highlighter mind, as its more of a peach blusher with a very small amount of shimmer. Its quite a natural finish with a bit of a kick to it. To apply this I use the eco tools powder brush, I find as its slightly tapered I can use it to apply a light wash of colour onto the cheeks. 

Then onto the eyes, first off I apply my Two faces shadow insurance, eye primer. I have oily eyelids and find that I really need a primer. I then use my Revlon colorstay quad, usually the two bottom shades for just a wash of colour. I apply them using my three eco tools eye shadow brushes, at the bottom of the picture. I also use the 'clear' or what is meant to be clear but now brown, gel to set my eye brows in place. From there I like to line (sometimes) my lower lash line with a black MUA eye liner and curl my lashes with a superdrug eye lash curler. I then apply two different mascaras, the first- one with no writing, is one from Collection, I cant remember what one though as the writing has come of.... I then follow this with the No7 Intense volume mascara for extra definition. 

I also wear lipstick, but this changes day by day, varying from red, dark pink to nudes. But right now im really loving berry colours and darker shades of pink. I feel like these are quite wintery and season appropriate.

bourjois healthy mix foundation

So the Bourjois healthy mix foundation is probably one of the most talked about foundations right now, its been compared to the likes of MAC face and body and said to be made in the same factory as chanel . It claims to be radiance boosting, up to 16 hour wear and a fruit therapy based foundation, Its also been voted the product of the year and rates 10/10 but the daily mail. So my expectations were very high when I bought this, It cost £9.99 and can be bought at superdrug, boots and online.

Pros

•  It has a beautiful coverage (light-medium) and applies like a dream. 
•  Has a nice finish to it, sort of semi matt. 
• Dermatologically tested
• Lets skin breath
• Gives 8 hours of moister (so it says)
• Pump dispenser so its hygienic. (as you can see in the photo) 
• Easy to control the amount that comes out as well due to the pump. So no waist of product or mess.
  

Cons

• Its heavily fragrant, I enjoy the smell but I can see that if your sensitive to smell or your skin doesn't like products overly fragrant this may be a problem for you
• Shade rang- there are only 3 shades available, I have shade 52 and I'm an NC20 in MAC, that is as pale as the range goes, so if your very pale or very tanned you wont be able to find a shade that matches. 

Having said this, Bourjois have come out with a healthy mix serum foundation that has a lot more shade range, It may also be more suitable for someone who has slightly more dry or mature skin.

Overall I really like this foundation, for the price its great. I leaves my skin looking and feeling nice and smooth and I really like the smell of it, nice and fruit unlike some other that smell like paint. Well worth the hype.

MAC Blot powder

I have very oily skin, so I go through powers like there is no tomorrow, and as you can see from the photo I have 100% totally used up all of this powder. I bought it after watching Graces' video from the 'uglyfaceofbeauty' many many moons ago, when she mentioned that she used and loved this.

It comes in 5 shades ranging from light to dark, but the girl at MAC told me when I was buying this that due to the fact there is hardly any colour pay off it doesn't matter if you are slightly out on the colour shading. It is designed to 'provide shine control without adding any noticeable colour or texture' to the skin. This blot powder contains Mica and Silica (which are minerals) to adsorb excess oils and to reduce shine on the surface of the skin. The price is £19.00 for 12g which for MAC is reasonably priced.

Its can be applied over foundation or on bare skin to take the shine away, It comes with a puff that could be used if you don't want to have to buy a brush as well. MAC suggest a power brush such as the 129, but you can use any brush of your choice.

This powder does exactly what it says, It didn't look like I had layers of make up on but took the shine out of my skin really well. Even after a few hours there was hardly any shine and if on the off chance there was, I could apply more and it still didn't make my make up look cakey and gross. Big reps to MAC for once again getting it spot on, I can see why they are such a popular brand. Even though you may think £19.00 is expensive for a powder, It lasts well as you don't need to use much at all and it works like a dream.
